Everything on this site is general information about medical malpractice. It is not legal advice and cannot account for the facts of your situation. For advice about your case, talk to a lawyer licensed in your state or province.

Not a law firm

Malpractice Center is not a law firm. We do not represent anyone, and no one at Malpractice Center acts as your lawyer.

Not a lawyer referral service

We are not a lawyer referral service. We do not choose a lawyer for you, and we do not take a fee for any case, referral or signed client. Law firms pay flat fees for labeled advertising, as our disclosures explain.

Advertising

Malpractice Center is an advertising service. Featured placements are paid advertising for the law firms involved and are labeled Featured. When you use our case review and agree to be contacted, your request goes to a featured partner law firm that pays to advertise with us.

No lawyer-client relationship

Reading this site, using our tools, contacting us or sending a case review does not create a lawyer-client relationship with Malpractice Center or with any law firm. A relationship with a lawyer begins only when you and that lawyer agree to it. Until then, do not assume anything you send is privileged or confidential as a lawyer's communication would be.

No guarantee of results

Results that law firms publish depend on the facts of each case. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome, and we do not guarantee any result.

Lists are editorial opinion

Our lawyer lists and scores are our assessment under our published methodology. They are not an endorsement or a certification. We do not describe lawyers as specialists or experts. Check any lawyer with the state bar or law society before you hire them.

Deadlines are estimates

Filing deadlines shown by our tools and guides are estimates based on general rules. The deadline in your case can be shorter or longer. Talk to a lawyer well before any deadline.

Not medical advice

Our pages describe medical events to explain legal rights. They are not medical advice. If you have a health concern, talk to a doctor. In an emergency, call 911.

Lawyer advertising notices

Some states require notices like these on lawyer advertising. Where they apply, they apply to the featured placements on this site:

  • Attorney advertising.
  • Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
  • The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely upon advertisements.
  • No representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.
  • Featured lawyers are licensed only in the jurisdictions stated on their card. A lawyer may be unable to act for you in a state or province where they are not licensed.

Tell us what happened. We'll help you find out if you have a case.

Most people who reach out aren't sure yet, and that's fine. Share a few lines and a malpractice lawyer near you can look at it with you, at no cost.

  • It's free, and talking to a lawyer doesn't commit you to anything.
  • Where we know the local rules, you'll see your likely filing deadline right away.
  • Your answers are encrypted and never sold or used for ads.
