Jeremy Diamond, Diamond and Diamond Law

Interview with Jeremy Diamond, Managing Lawyer at Diamond & Diamond

Today, we’re joined by Jeremy Diamond, Senior Lawyer at Diamond & Diamond, a firm that has grown into one of Canada’s most recognizable legal brands. Under Jeremy’s leadership, the firm has expanded across multiple provinces, taking on high-profile cases in personal injury, and class actions law. From advocating for victims in landmark lawsuits—like the York University shooting and major class actions against corporations—to expanding legal accessibility for Canadians, Jeremy has built a reputation for fighting for justice.

Beyond the courtroom, he is a firm believer in innovation, resilience, and maintaining a strong, client-first approach in the ever-evolving legal landscape. Today, he shares his insights on the firm’s success, its expansion to the East Coast, and the future of legal services in Canada.

Q: Your firm has become one of the most recognizable legal brands in Canada. What’s been the key to Diamond & Diamond’s success?

Jeremy Diamond: I’d say accessibility and results. When we rebranded the firm almost a decade ago, we wanted to make sure that legal help wasn’t just for those who could afford expensive retainers. That’s why we focus on a client-first approach and take on cases that truly impact people’s lives. Whether it’s personal injury, or class actions our goal is to fight for the everyday Canadian.

Q: Now, you’re expanding to the East Coast. Why now?

Jeremy Diamond: It’s been a long time coming. We’ve successfully expanded across multiple provinces, and we’re seeing a real demand for legal services in places like Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI. We’re bringing our expertise in personal injury law while also growing our offerings in wills & estates, and class actions. The goal is to ensure people in these provinces have access to strong legal representation.

Q: Your firm has taken on some major cases over the years. Are there any that stand out to you?

Jeremy Diamond: There are quite a few, but a few that really hit home for me were the class actions we filed against nursing home providers during the COVID-19 pandemic. We saw families losing their loved ones due to negligence, and that wasn’t something we could stand by and watch. Those cases are ongoing and we’re fighting for justice on behalf of the victims.

Q: You’ve also been involved in some landmark personal injury cases, including the UberX driver case and the York University shooting lawsuit. What drives you to take on these kinds of fights?

Jeremy Diamond: At the end of the day, our job is to hold people and institutions accountable. Whether it’s a university failing to provide security, a corporation compromising personal data, or a company selling harmful products like Roundup, our role is to stand up for victims. The legal system is meant to protect people and we’re here to make sure it does.

Q: With the legal landscape constantly evolving, how is Diamond & Diamond adapting?

Jeremy Diamond: Technology is playing a huge role in how we operate. We’re using digital platforms to make legal services more accessible—whether it’s virtual consultations or new software programs. The industry is shifting, and we want to be at the forefront of that change, making law more convenient and transparent for clients.

Q: For those who may need legal help but are hesitant to reach out, what would you say to them?

Jeremy Diamond: You don’t have to go through it alone. Whether it’s a car accident, wrongful death case, or even planning your will, legal issues can be overwhelming. But that’s why we’re here, to guide you, fight for you and make sure you get the justice you deserve.

Q: A law firm is only as strong as the team behind it. What do you look for when hiring lawyers at Diamond & Diamond?

Jeremy Diamond: Skill and experience are important, but what really sets someone apart is their dedication to clients. We want lawyers who genuinely care about the people they represent. Legal knowledge can be taught, but empathy and a relentless drive for justice—that’s what makes a great lawyer. We also value adaptability because the legal industry is evolving quickly. Lawyers today need to be tech-savvy, business-minded and excellent communicators.

Q: The legal field is highly competitive. What advice would you give to lawyers or firms looking to differentiate themselves?

Jeremy Diamond: The biggest mistake lawyers make is assuming that good work alone will get them noticed. While results matter, you also need to be visible. That means investing in strong branding, digital marketing and community engagement. A client needs to know who you are and trust you before they even walk into your office. Also, don’t be afraid to take a stand. Some of our most high-profile cases have come from us stepping up in the moments when others hesitated. Be bold, be proactive and always put the client first.
